We know from the news that suicide happens to celebrities, or to others of us, who, seemingly, ‘have it all’. Did you know that according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the USA? Suicide results in an estimated $51 billion in combined medical and work loss costs and affects all ages, genders, and all socio-economic statuses, but especially effects those of a minority status: people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. In 2016, nearly 9.8 million of us seriously thought about taking our own lives. Suicide is still shrouded in stigma, pain and judgement. Join us at CRSH with Dr Joe Kort, for an open and honest discussion on what to do if someone you love is in danger of harming themselves. The talk is FREE to attend.
Register at https://bit.ly/2GZj6oN Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Dr. Kort will be live streaming the event on Facebook for those who cannot attend in person.
